Aubrey and Derek tied the knot on June 11th at the GORGEOUS, Austin Finch house in Thomasville, NC. They had a beautiful wedding with 100 of their friends and family by their side. The day started with the couple getting ready with their best friends. The girls popped some champagne while the guys hung out and played pool! It’s always a great idea to find a venue that has a spacious getting ready area. The Austin Finch house has two separate getting ready rooms with tons of space and light. There are also beautiful spots in the house for details as well. My favorite was the library area where we hung Aubrey’s dress. Such a beautiful backdrop for dress photos!
Aubrey and Derek decided to do a first look in front of the stunning windows on the back side of the Austin Finch house. Their friends were able to watch through the window as they read the letters they wrote for each other and see each other for the first time. It was the sweetest moment! After they did their first look, we took bridal party photos before the wedding. (First looks are great for getting bridal party photos knocked out before the ceremony!).
The ceremony took place in the beautiful yard behind the Austin Finch House. They have a beautiful white arbor there that the couple decorated with stunning florals. I loved seeing Derek tear up as he saw Aubrey walk down the aisle. This is proof that even if you do a first look, it doesn’t take away from the emotion of seeing each other at the ceremony!
Aubrey and Derek decided to take some portraits after the ceremony and also a few at sunset since it was still really bright out after the ceremony. Sunset portraits are great because it is typically the best lighting for photos. AND it’s a nice way to get a few minutes of alone time on your big day! The side porch area was my favorite spot for portraits, BUT let’s be real.. they are ONE MILLION beautiful places to take portraits at the Austin Finch House. You really can’t go wrong here!
Their reception was SO MUCH FUN!!! Lots of dancing, cake eating, heart felt speeches and the most beautiful sparkler exit.
